Ox speed skim ST plastic blade

Just bought the ox speed skim ST plastic blade (900mm), Wondered if it were wise to break in slightly with say wet and dry paper? Corners are already round on this so no need to round them with say a 5p coin. Any suggestions as I just took a bit of worn sand paper to it and stopped, said to myself better to ask as no hurry to use... cheers
