Well wasn't really after a debate but nature of social media means we get one anyway. Don't get many opportunities to experiment so I was always going to give something a try.
Anyways covered tapes and filled beads before starting all times and original post way came up pretty good, I was taking the speedy as far as I could that time and it's easily passable on site and still better then any other plasterers works I've followed this year.
Second time. Put on flattened with speedskim. Sponged it, mediflex a couple times then plastic fantastic. Came up ok, still better the plasterers work I've seen and would pass on site but I'm not sold on it, slightly bumpy, doubt anybody will notice it.
Third time I thought I would see how good it can be so put it on, 18" carbon MT, sponge, 18" again, 14" carbon MT. And finally 14" nelaflex2........ absolutely bang on. I would put money on that, the only thing that competes with that is 2 coating with fresh gear.
As others have said If you lay wet on wet, which let's face it 99% if us have it is actually no different to one coating, Sponge or not.
Tbh I'm probably more bothered that the medi and plastic didn't do so well. And also the more I use them the more I think the speedy Kim's are not the best at anything more then flattening initial stages... and I really wish that wasn't the case.
Still enough of plastering for now. All work can get f**k*d till at least wed, hopefully year
merry xmas
