Sponsors are usually more inclined to give people stuff. If he had any major sponsors, we'd have heard all about them. Cos that's the point.

People like him make youtube videos to show people how f**k**g clever they are - or not, as the case may be.

I can't comment on his rendering, but his skimming is...um...well, at the very least, he made a meal of it.

In away you are correct. But he has a huge website that takes a lot of maintenance. I wouldnt be surprised at £70.00 per hour.

It also takes a lot of work to make professional videos. You dont do that for brownie points or 20 quid from Youtube once a month.

Those videos don’t look professional to me mate. Basic tripod, £400 max camera with questionable AF.

£50 max intro, one off payment. used in every video.

Running basic adsense , he isn’t making s**t

Click on youtube name below video and go to 'about'.

He has over 70,000 subs and 11 million views of his vids. I would say that gives him a big dick to wave around under someones nose looking to promote their gear?

That’s a fair point, nicely worded too.

He is using a lighting rig and someone who knows how to use it................that costs thousands.

He has a lapel/lavier mic on his shirt so probably using a Zoom recorder which requires people to spend hours editing the video for sound and cutting.............do you want me to carry on?

His website is amusing, apparently he's a journalist who does tool reviews.

Nothing to get too worried about IMHO. If anyone wants to follow his 'advice' they're welcome to crack on. Plus his videos would be good to link to or embed on your own website to illustrate 'how not to' better than you could describe yourself.

If I was editing your vids I would want paying.

If I was doing camera work and sound or possibly 2 people I would want paying.

The video is scripted in scenes and vocals..........another person who wants paying.

Equipment..............my lighting rig cost £1500 and its only basic.................on and on and on.

You can carry on with me if you like...I know plenty about videography. Lighting kit doesn't cost thousands at all - nor is it difficult to use.

You can still spend vast fortunes on cameras if you want but people are getting great results with kit that costs under a grand these days. Often phones.

I did look at his whole channel - I asked you about a website. I've also looked at that since and it's all really nothing to shout about. The channel is updated about twice a week. My rule of thumb for video is that it takes about 3 times as long to process a video as it did to shoot it, so I make that about 4 hrs work a week.

A sponsorship on one of his vids seems to be good for, on average, perhaps 40,000 views - if he has any sponsors - which is a really, REALLY small amount for marketing that isn't all that well targeted. Be better going with Facebook.

I'd be interested to hear what world it is that you're in?

If you use a lighting kit then you know the lights have to sequenced. So all adjustable. Mine is a 5 head Led kit from the firm in Oldbury. And it cost £1400 and something.

He is most possibly using 2 cameras or more on that vid. As you can see it is done in lots of little stages and scenes. So that video took a long time to make with movements of lighting and cameras etc being reset each time.

Is he using a autocue to read off? Small ones cost about £500.........another kit item.

He has a facebook and twitter account.

All in all there is a lot more than one bloke with a £20 trowel and a plastic bucket involved.

You're massively, MASSIVELY overthinking it.

I used to have this when I thought I had something to lean off photographers.... I swear, those silly c**ts would spend all day and £10,000 making one clip if I'd have let them.

No offence but you really dont know what you are talking about. Youtube is very powerfull. It is the second biggest search engine to Google..............and it's owned by Google.

It has destroyed mainstream media outlets and the EU are trying their best to destroy it. (Article 13).

Actually, I know exactly what I'm talking about and it's sites like f**k**g Youtube that have meant that I've had to pick up the trowel again.

In what way?
In every way....no f**k*r can sell content any more because the instant that they do, it's stolen and redistributed so some other prick can get a few hits.

It's also incredibly difficult to sell your services as a videographer or cameraman or video editor any more because it's all so simple nowadays... mainstream journalism is f**k*d because there's always some t**t with a phone there before you.

All my kit is in a box and it'll stay there until I figure out something to film for Youtube that I can put up for free and make a bunch of money out of hits.

I am impressed but I fully understand.

The figure I think is almost 90% of all income by vid makers is earned off Youtube except for those big people like Pewdepie etc. Which means they use it to sell a product or to get income from other sources advertising etc.

Demonetization got rid of a lot of youtubers in the past 2 years.

Making vids is a lot easier but the whole thing is evolving fast as people want decent stuff to watch now and especially now its all HD and 4k. Nobody but oldies watch tv anymore and thats changing fast as well.

So companies advertising habits are changing fast also.
