My coving

I hired someone from rated people to decorate my front room and hall way, including putting coving up. I am looking at the coving job he has done today and he is saying the ceiling is uneven, he had to sand down the plaster coving I bought in order to try and fit it. I’m looking at it now and see some gaps at top but he says it will look good when finished. He took 6 hours just doing some of coving today. I was surprised he hasn’t done the whole room. What are your professional opinions please ??
