Multi / Board Mix Ratios to Water

Morning all

I was wondering, what plaster:water ratio do you usually have? I know it's usually a suck and see to a chocolate mouse mix but I'm wondering if I'm making my mix slightly too thick (2.2kg:1ltr)? I've been reading a few articles on mixes, and it's been suggested to make the mix at 2kg:1ltr

It really is whatever you prefer. It prob says on the back of the bag but I’ve never read it

Spread that jumps on some of our jobs knocks it up almost like bonding! Yuk

Last time I tried bonding plaster it felt like I was spreading pollyfiller

When you say wetter, is it literally just about holding on your trowel, or is it slopping off?

It depends on what you’re skimming. Wetter for board but a bit thicker for a bumpy annoying reskim

Skim will always slop off your gauger/bucket trowel. Only drywall shouldn’t move from it

I use skim nice and light especially if doing a 2 bag mix.I can’t work with or understand those who want it mixed fairly stiff.
