Afternoon good people,

Originals or permashape marshalltowns ss or carbon what's people's preference? In the market for another setting trowel ideally would like to stick to the Mt's as most places stock can get your hands on one to check its not dog legged before you buy it, as online buys you run the risk of a dpd or hermes lackey using it as a frisbee :X3:

all Permashape trowels are bent they are also called a banana trowel.
my favourite is a Mt. Druaflex. not to be confused with the Mt Permashape Duraflex.
Mt Duraflex has only a tiny bit of flex unlike the other flex trowels. Mt Duraflex stainless is Mts top of the range trowel expect to pay double the cost of a Permashape.

Permashape trowels are absolutely fine. I use them all the time.

Don't be buying a new trowel cause some c**ts put a torch down ye wall in a dark room

To be fair have been looking to get a new one for a while drop me setting trowel few months back hit the ladder and took a dig out of it have tried sodding about sanding it etc as don't wanna give her up, it's ok laying on but trowel it's bit agg having to keep rotating trowel to keep the dig side off wall, that said all is not lost can use it as render trowel (y)

That's the plan have got few planters to render coming up and a floor to screed, just don't know whether to original mt or permashape, only thing that puts us off permashape is that most of them now come off the shelf like boomerangs
 
Few years back there were no where near as bad and the trowel of using now is a permashape 8 years old. Hence thinking of going back to the original black an red handle xtralite mt

It’s a plasterers own business what he uses but I prefer MT xtralite carbon with a wooden handle.Also don’t let that little issue get you down we’ve all had something over the years.
