hoping for Bobby to see this one as I know he's a local lad

I'm based in Devon and the plastering sand here is shite. Red 50/50 they call it. It's got huge stones and pebbles in it and it runs up like s**t in the beads unless you set them into of the scratch leaving a thicker topcoat etc etc.

Solution > I've been knocking up my own rendering sand using 4 fine sand 1 sharp sand and 1 cement/lime. Seems to work a treat.

God I miss the lovely blonde stuff I used to use years ago from back home :( !
 
You can get 70/30 and motor sand in north Devon mate , both are fine to use, some of the 50/50 is like they dragged it of the beach.

Did this one the other week with Devon building supplies 70/30 was fine to use.
Evans yard supply a lot of the merchants this way, you can go collect your own from Evans, RGB plastering sand latest year was shite , like they had been mixing it with chippings ...lol
 
RGB is the exact place I've been getting this s**t 50/50 from.. That's why I've been mixing my own..

I'm originally from Dorset/Hampshire, used to get lovely fluffy blonde stuff there which rubbed up lovely :(
