Hi,

I am plastering a small internal brick wall area and need some advice on what method to use.

I want to keep the thickness of the plaster and board to an absolute minimum so I can use the wall space for storage and have enough depth to fit in a bookcase.

Please can you advise what method I should use to finish the brick wall and minimise the final depth. the aqll is structural sound and has good insulation so its just about achieving a visually flat, smooth finish.

thank you

John

Try one coat plaster. You would get away with 10/12 mm depth. I take it there is no damp issues or condensation.

Thanks, there are no damp issues etc. So could I avoid using plasterboard at all and plaster direct onto the brick 10-12mm thick?

Use bonding coat pva first then lay it on like skim nice and tight rule it if you know how then skim if you know how
