Meshing basecoat?

How do you guys go about it? Might sound like a dumb question but I always find it slightly clumsy and awkward? Sometimes we’ll drop a vertical length and sometimes go horizontally across the lift. I like to cut it ready and fold it up ready for bedding in. That’s my tip lol

get the labourer to doit...lol

na seriously big areas as u say pre cut.. boom
small.window.areas just bang on big areas then fill in with off cuts

Base coat as in ewi? Apply as you do, I use a serrated trowel. Lightly bed it into the surface then use a spat to sink it in so it is just covered and the spat is maintaining flatness.

Light second pass.

If a base coat like rend aid then I spread, rule flat then bed the mesh in, hopefully deep enough to have enough to scratch otherwise a light second pass.
