Meshed ceiling ??

Any of you gadgies seen a ceiling meshed like this before??
Was overboarding this on Friday and ain't never seen owt like it??
 
Too late now if over boarded , looks like hair in it ( asbestos content ? ) , bit Ott ,was the joist pitch abnormally large, when was it built

It was a lime ceiling but was expecting lath not mesh. Building paper on the joists as well
 
I'm trying to think of the name of the stuff. A paperbacked mesh, lath mesh, render mesh, I don't know something like that. @Gibbo or @malc will remember the name. It's still available.

looks to me like D49, a light weight reinforcement that is usually placed in floor screeds.
that is the type of spec you would expect on a bank vault, or an expensive shop with a flat above to stop intruders.

Rendalath that's the name I was trying to think of. A welded mesh in either galvanized or stainless steel, with a paper backing.
