for mono I recon mesh with slightly bigger bigger holes is better for the nature of the material 10mm x 10mm squares or you can get more the smaller 5mm x 5mm or 6mm are used commonly on thin coats where the base is very sticky and adhesion will not be impared by the mesh inbetween the product where as mono could do with bigger holes in my opinion so the material has good contact throughout without much separation from th mesh material.

you cant beat the proper mesh its that simple the colour coded from parex/weber etc but the price is a joke when you can get this stuff for half the price.

why dont you buy one roll and try it?
