We do have chinese and polish members so doubt they will help a racist, like whats been said before prices are not set in stone. You get about 3m to a board, 10m to finish so price up each product you need that will give you your material rate then its upto you what you want a metre. xxxxx

This is gonna have to end here ive had a complaint today off two members, Tay ping and Joy ting so i might have to lock this thread.

If your self employed, running your own service there is no SET rate..its YOUR rate that values your work...the only factor which u could argue is SET is the price or materials, but even that varies...it is a simple equation and it relates to you and you alone...YOU charge what YOU feel your work is worth i.e the amount of work u can put up in a day to a professional standard..this money equates the value of that work.....u then work out the meterage for material costs, total it all up for the whole job, divide it by the total meterage and thats YOUR rate...never mind what someone else's rate is, thats THEIR rate for THEIR work and THEIR service...if no ones excepting your quotes, ask yourself why and make the changes...like a few have said above if u can't do this for yourself you should most certainly not be in a self employed capacity in this trade...it does baffle me why people worry SO MUCH about what other people are charging anyway...its not their work your charging for so why ask what they're charging???????....

SkintSkim In the private sector or domestic what ever you want to call it there is no fixed price. What always comes into play is the word variable this means am going to price low because Ive Fecl all on am going in top dollar because Ive plenty on.
I can get my gear loads cheaper then the rest because my mate works at....... and if I go on a dinner time , and then you have lads whats on the dole and will come in for beer money. And then there is the old cherry just how quick you are come's into play on pricing, and so the variables go on and on. On bigger jobs you can soon run into trouble when other trades are involed.

good post that.

theres no black art to pricing [sorry twicher multi coloured]
its boarderline lazy when newbies post on here, asking what to charge for this and that, whether your pricing a job at £50 or £50,000 the prinicipal is still the same, its just when your pricing higher value projects youve just got to take more variables and liabilties into consideration, but utimately you know your own rates.

Labour only....£6m boarding and £4m skimming. If you get outpriced come down a little.....eventually you'll find the going rate in your area. Good luck
