I’ve just done a few reed ceilings myself, we put a good handful of nhl 3.5 in the pricking up coat to make it slightly tighten up quicker and let the scratch go white dry they shrink like mad. Make sure you scour the floating coat 2/3 times before you devil it. Not teaching you to suck eggs but I found you have to counter quite a bit of shrinkage
