Uniform finish no water marks just makes the work look loads better to customers
customers in the main do not have a clue what it is supposed to look like, they only care what it looks like when it is painted and all the furniture is back in and also nobody looks up so don't bother final troweling a ceiling because it is a waste of time.

I agree however it doesnt look good to new builders, customers etc in that period until painted as looks absolute dogshit!!!

Yeah if it's a dumb domestic customer, any customer in the trade will go for for a clean finish every time

Something you monkeys get wrong about domestics is you think the customer not knowing about plastering is a good thing.. actually most of them expect a mirror finish , smooth as a babies bum they say. Bent walls to be straightened with 3mm skim etc.

Whereas builders know the crack and know what they can get away with.
