Hi,

I'm currently employed as a retained Firefighter in the Northamptonshire area and I'm looking into getting into the trades sector. Plastering appealed to me and I have looked into getting into a college course as a plasterer's apprentice. Unfortunately you need to be currently employed as a plasterer to begin the NVQ training.
Unfortunately I think the chances of getting employed in this sector is a matter of who you know and unfortunately I do not know anyone in the sector.

If anyone on here would be interested in me, I'd be the perfect candidate, very hard working, willing to learn, willing to start on the minimum wage.

I learn fast and could become a valuable asset to you in a short space of time.

I'm aged 23 and am mature and professional.

If you wish to contact me please email me at [email protected].

Alternatively if anyone has any advice for me I'd really appreciate that too.

Thanks.

How many days a week would you be able to do ? Also you can get nvq through other routes doesn't have to be an apprentice and would make it easier for you to get work

Hello an welcome,

You will find getting an apprenticeship is going to be pretty tough... go visit your local college and see what they can do... they can do for you. That would be my first port of call then I would start phoning local plasterers seeing if they need a hand, maybe offer to help for free just so you get an insight as to what actually goes on.

However at the moment the trade is not doing to well, prices have fallen and there are a lot of plasterers sat on their arse so I am not going to lie its going to be tough for a newbie.
