Been offered a job in clapham its only a couple of weeks and its a mess of a refurb so nearly impossible to price but wouldn't normally touch it ,but in the current market must give it a look . B&B is out of the question and driving would be a six hour round trip so looks like the train is the way forward this will cost about £125 a week so my question is what are the rates in the smoke? and have been affected by the credit crunch , the builder know he can get it done cheaper local but ...... his going down the better the devil he knows route.

I no there might not be many spreads on here from London so prices from other cities in the uk will help me thanks

6 hours i dont think so mate colchester to clapham 1.5 hours back 2 the rates are s**t like everywhere else

I work in london a fair bit, and in the areas your talking about clapham fulham chelsea you get good money I do work for a company in london and charge them 175 a day and thats on cis, you can get good money even now, on a day rate min is 150 a day and dont take any less, no doubt there will be replys saying its alot less but let me tell you if you are good then the money is there.

depends on what type of work you do you wont get 150 daywork on sitework no matter how good you are

if you work through agencys then you will not get that money, but through the main plastering firms 150min thats in and around london even on pricework at a bottom price of say 2.50 you should be taking nearly 200 a day on site.

the main plastering firms will not pay 150 a day stanmore bdl ocl mc dermotts lightweights astins c+g rpn conneelys progressive etc do not pay 150 more like 120 and yeah on 2.50 you should take 200 a day

over the last three years ive worked for buckingham developments tsg teevans and lbc and never been on less than 150 the likes of bdl and ocl do pay crap money.

i live in west london and all the plasterers i know and have worked with get anything from 120-150 a day.
thats not site work, they all work domestic.

domestic is different and all those other companies ive never heard of in the 25 years i been doing it

Thanks for the replys we are asking for £200 a day minus the travel money we think thats fair.

120 a day is reality mate but then again i dont do daywork much

in all fairness mate 75% of my work is my own domestic where U do earn and the other 25% is for another company but again domestic.

don't drop prices!!!! with the travelling £200 is fair. i go in at £180 a day with no traveling... hope it works out church.
