London LOW EMISSIONS ZONE Charges

After finding out in a different post about the new LEZ charges im just wondering wether any1 is able to shed some light on this as im sure this is going to impact all trades that currentley commute to london daily

Does anyone know how much it costs to buy and get the compliant filter fitted? Link Removed
 
I'm sure I read that the conversion would cost about 3k and "might" work and then you need to pay to have it checked each year.
 
my mate got quoted 3k on his toyota have you noticed that its all being done before the olympics
 
:RpS_scared: F.UCK that for a game of tiddlywinks i think im just gonna buy a newer van. but does it change every year so after the first year that comes in are they then gonna say you need to buy a 53/03 plate the year after or is it firm at 52/02 plate

£100 per day...holy sh*t.

Reduce the emissions and knock a few tradesman out of work overnight.

This can't carry on for much longer.

83000 on a 2000 plate mines done 98000 on an 07

Especially when combined with their cigar smoke coming out of the back of their chauffeur driven limos.

On a more positive note i'm running gas an petrol
 
congestion charge area has been reduced since first half of year. covers the centre and east. got quoted £2800 for the filter. not worth it plus some pikey will have it off for the platinum inside it. filter alone is about £2500!

the dpf (filter) increases mpg so we burn more fuel but with letting out cleaner fumes. i see the point for health reasons. but still a bit of a contradiction. given time these vans will all be knackered anyhow. and fair play to anyone who keeps them going. clowns. should just take the plates off and abandon them outside boris' office!
 
I think you guys are worrying about nothing light vans are not included in this so my beloved berlingo is ok so should transits be ok
 
surely a transit does not weigh more than 3 ton ??? i have no idea but wouldnt of thought so
 
vans with rear seats ie traveliner/ dualiners are exempt. classed as a car in there eyes. just putting that out there.

So why the **** are they picking on my double cab (five seat) truck. wankers I only use it to go to concerts or the odd weekend away up there.
