No I'm not.
Emulsion easily wipes off of gloss but gloss doesn't off of emulsion.
My old granddad was a 'proper' decorator and knew what he was talking about. Don't listen to these modern toshers as my granddad called them.
But gloss covers emulsion. So if your cutting ins bang on best way

yes you are.

emulsion ceilings and walls. Doesn’t matter if get it on wood work.

Then do all wood work and cut in.

wood paint can take days to dry. So do it last. Can cut straight into emulsion

Yeah that's how you do it, I'm telling you the correct way.

See yer point ,only first coat dad ,but never done it that way

I always do first gloss coat 2 emulsion then final gloss/cutting but essexandy is correct.

How do u know if your grandads way was correct. I’m no painter but sounds daft as fook doing emulsion last .you’d get spray everywhere off the roller
It was all brushed in grandad day.
Tools and methods evolve.

Because he was a proper time served decorator, from a time when trades knew and generally did things by the correct method. You know when plasterers two coated skim because it was the right way and used screeds when floating. Stuff like that.
