I've just bought a Leica Disto and thought it might be of interest to you lot.
Laser distance measure accurate to +/- 1.5mm up to 60 metres. What makes it good IMNSHO is the app and bluetooth. Take a photo on your phone and it sends the measurements to the phone via bluetooth which you then tap onto a line drawn on the photo.
Very quick, very easy and you can email the photo along with quotes or descriptions.
