I am cr.ap at floor screeding, in fact I did a 10m2 screed the other day and nearly collapsed after.

There is a local guy to me who is a monster of a man ... must be 7 foot tall and huge to boot. He lays all lidstones screeds and after talking to a few of their men he is rumoured to have earned £140k last year from Lidstones laying floor screed.

30-50 ton a day is his average and he has 5 labourers!
 
ffs his not a man :-0 his a machine !! i know i liked doing screeds,,,,,,,,,, but fck that , am not that keen :RpS_laugh:
 
Believe me he is a real mountain of a man, proper hard to. always the same routine, van pulls up at about 11 full of dope smoke. he'll sit there and have a coffee and another spliff then work till the job is complete.

my mate was working on a big housing development along side Al, he said Al was doing about a house an hour
 
yep he,s a nutter my mate got him 25 ton of sand he phoned him and said wheres the rest i will use that by 10.30
 
sometimes in life you meet people who are just machines, I met a guy who fitted coving once all he had with him was 2 sticks, a gorrila bucket, a beer crate and a few hand tools. He coved a 5 bed house and al lthe cupboards, on suites etc by 12.00 . i was like wtf!!.

I wish you guys could watch this Al lay screed honest its like watching a machine
 
i like meeting people like that, the just bang the jobs out and its top quality. i once met an old irish dude who laid a 17 ton floor in a couple of hours, just him and a lab. i like doing coving aswell but **** me im not that fast!
 
Just thought about this - 7ft tall?...............It's two fkin dwarfs one on top of the other, so really only doing 25 ton each - sneaky little fkers:RpS_sneaky:
 
I dont really get involved. TBH the reason is we never get asked so it seems to be flooring specialists only round our way.
Would do a bit of flowscreed if I had a pump tho - Why not
 
was on a job in Stanstead about 15 years ago massive areas and this Polish c**t built like a man mountain was laying loads a day just chucked the levels in with a laser all pumped in i would imagine he is dead now or very rich
 
A bloke i know Andy gregory was the same apperentley he layed a 120 ton in a day but i am sure he had a gang of screeders with him, now owns one of the biggest screeding companies in the south west SMG. I on the other hand am probably the same as most spreads takes all day to lay 10 ton well thats the biggest i have done and it took all day and i had 2 labs with me not good for your back and knees :(
 
bod, is he from bristol, i use a bloke called Paul gregory. he turned up one day and laid 110m2 all by 12 and said he was off down the road to do another 100m2. just him and his son.

I used to do about 100m2 a day but that was tops , most i every did was 130m2 but that was a hard day.

Yeah he is from Bristol theres a few gregorys that are screeders i think also the milkins are related which are well known screeders in bristol, I was ona job a few years ago and SMG had a fall out with the site management and they got some other dude in and he was this welsh bloke getting on a bit but bloody hell could he lay, he hand mixed a massive pile of sand straight through a pump and did an area of around 300m2 in 2 days didnt know his name but apparentley he's well known.
 
I was chatting to my mate and he reckons the area he did in 2 days was more like 6-700m2 and on reflection it probably was mental.
 
The job I am on now was laid by Al, ground floor is 140m2 and he did it with one lab in 4 hours the lads on site told me, I had a quick check in a few awkward places with a 6 foot level and it was bang on.... dunno how he does it lol
