I am going to skim the whole wall but first I need to sort out this:

the socket is a spur.

Not sure how secure the socket is going to be in the lathe plaster? I'm guessing that it was pulled out fo the wall prevously as it was not secure.. so I think i'll just move the spur elsewhere in that case.

Thought it was another silly question after the "i eat multi thread".......:RpS_thumbdn:

i regulary work on lat n plaster walls, found the quickest way to steady up the lats is to use a type of postcrete we get...it's actualy quite smooth and literaly goes of in under 5mins....you can then float out with a tight coat of bonding.

if ya use postcrete, make sure it has a smooth aggregate in or they'l be trouble ahead:RpS_thumbup:
i use bonding wi a generous few handfulls of rapid set cement for larger areas, sets in about an hour.
