Hi guys

Were looking to buy a new breaker for knocking off render etc. We have a makita but it's a little under powered for the job. We sometimes hire a breaker but I find it's money wasted at around £50.00 per week. What would you recommend got to be good enough to do the job , but not two heavy so the lads moan there arms ache .

Cheers

Hilti. do good breakers, bit pricey? How much you want to spend?how often would you use it mickyboy?

We have a hilti TE 56 and its the dogs.

SDS max machines are the ones to go for, SDS plus just aren't man enough.

we bought a cheape b and q breaker in a sale for 50 notes thing this wont last long but its done a lot of work so far and we killed a boshe one that cost 3 times more and done **** all

Can recommend the Bosch GSH 5CE. Bought it years ago 2nd hand from EBay for £80 and its worked and worked and worked. Faultless, powerful, good size and weight. If it died I'd definately buy another.

Over heard the milwaukee rep today in jewsons on about how superior there gear is too anything else on the market..................anyone used there gear??...............Think they own ryobi as well

I recommend a lump hammer and bolster .Keep your lads away from internet porn as this can have an adverse affect on the arm stamina required to use this equipment. Tell them that they are lucky to have a job and if they dont like it you know a polish man that would do it for half the money. Simple's .

If you want a breaker then buy a dedicated breaker. If you get a hammer drill/breaker then it'll be more versatile and you'll get more use out of it but it won't shift render like a full on breaker will.

If the prices of their gear is owt t gan by they should be she-ite hot. in terms of price think high end dewalt/makita then add quite a bit more on top. I know a couple of young joiners who have bought thier cordless drills and swear by them

I only buy Bosch and it has to be 5kg. Lighter and it doesn't have the punch and the chisel will be SDS + and snaps. Over 5kg and it is to heavy for hour on hour use. Breaker drill is more weight and a waste of money.

I have just returned a Hilti TE500 after a 4 year lease. It felt a bit heavier than the Bosch and was unreliable. Probably broke down every 3rd job. I wouldn't buy one.

For me it's Bosch.

he was proper slating Dewalt................:rolleyes)

maybe milwaukee are posh ryobi bits....................:RpS_unsure:...................who knows marra

Urm guess 6/7kg? Plenty of kick. What machines have you had when you have hired them, at least you know how they perform.

Thanks Carlos , that was the weight I was looking for . We hired a hitli but it was too light may have been the model below yours

Yeah Milwaukee's good! Battery's one died before warranty.. Mate had the combi and impact, seem a little heavier than my makita, all metal gearing etc as standard..

wouldn't hesitate to buy one, they are keeny priced as well

Had Milwaukee, was **** , too costly to repair, had hilti was ok , bosch though been spot on , needed new brushes after 18 month sent it to bosch through the merchant i got it from and they replaced em free and never charged me fo postage Thanks BOSCH :RpS_thumbsup:
