Hi folks.

I'm considering wrapping up my N. Ireland based quoins business to retire, and will be selling my full kit of Moulds.

We make sand and cement 12" and 9" quoins, so the kit for sale will involve everything needed to make precast stick-on sand & cement quoins in both those sizes, and also in 2 finishes- mitred edge and rolled edge.

Not sure of the best platform to sell them, so thought to mention it on here to the plastering trade before doing anything else.

Have enough kit to set up a production line.

If anyone would be interested give me a shout.

Hi @malc

We're currently working out of a small workshop in an industrial unit and run it as quite a successful and niche business- as our quoins are stick on (Not built in or plastered) but can be fitted in line with plasterers working... can be fitted to block, scratch or finished plasterwork (different quoins suit different finishes)

There is no vibrating plate used for ours- just a good mix of sand and cement (So you'd need a mixer) and filling the moulds. We thump them to pack the mould, smooth it off at the back, and turn it out on to a drying frame- frames are all included in the sale.

Quoins take a few days to cure, and we find stacking them outside on pallets cures them perfectly for fitting. So we also have a forklift for moving pallets.

Pretty simple, although quite physical work. Easy production line when you're in the swing of it.

A long wheel base transit is enough to carry quoins per single house site- anything bigger, and we outsource haulage to deliver to site for us. These sell well both for fitting, or for ex-works.

Forklift and mixer aren't part of this sale though (just to avoid confusion )
