K-Rend Rendering disappointed

Hello, I know up/down lighters aren’t great for showing flaws but does this look acceptable? I constantly look at other people’s lights and their render does not look this bad... the builder is telling us it’s up to Building Standards and minor flaws are acceptable... I don’t class this as minor??

That builders is feeding you with bull! Terrible work did he sub plasterer in or has he done it himself with his hands?

He subbed it out to a 1 man band... we owe the builder £4,000 for his last payment but we are so disappointed not yet paid it and he said we are bring “really difficult” and shouldn’t have put those lights on it!! Just don’t know what to do... he is threatening to take us to court for not paying...

Honestly helen you can’t settle for this! I’m sure you have paid a lot of hard earned money for this job. Next question has this builder done other work for you on the property and what has been the standard? Maybe he got plasterer in he never used before and they’ve made a pigs ear of the job! Ultimately it’s down to him and if your not happy don’t let it go! Hopefully you haven’t paid him yet.

We have had a terrible build and still owe the builder his last £4,000... we have refused to pay so far as we were told it would cost £15,000 to take off the render and re-do it properly. The builder is threatening to now take us to court... just at our wits end and wanted confirmation this really is bad?? He keeps telling us this is normal and that’s what render looks like with up/down lighters on it??

Is it bucket coat? Looks like undiluted tc15 slapped on and floated with a poly float way to late, with the wrong tool.

This ain’t a good job at all, and this goes back to what I said on a previous thread about people picking trowels up and having a go and trying to pass themselves off as tradesmen. It would be easy enough to rectify though

I was terrified you could end up with a worse job if you tried to patch it up?

Another skimmer that's had I go, he was probably saying before he did the job how easy modern rendering is, focking outdoor skimming and all that bullshite,
If you get it redone go with the colour render specialist with a reputation simple,

Looks lovely!

No we owe the last £4,000 for the job, we said we weren’t happy to pay the builder and he is threatening legal action... but if everyone says this is as bad as we think, why should we pay?
You should be taking him to court not the other way around.
https://www.plasterersforum.com/threads/house-been-rendered-in-weber-advice-wanted.76052/ similar thread from another very unhappy customer. I would say yours is actually worse which I didn't think possible

O dear.

Modern renders is now a trade in itself you need hours and hours on the road to have the experience to overcome different problems and master the technigues and quirky products.

The fact that the product come pre bagged is luring idiots into thinking they can have a pop.

Lads tbat sub to me havent touched a bag of multi now for over 20 years and dont even refer to themselves as plasterers any more.
