Hearing more and more about k-rend these days, and decided to get a bit more knowledge from any of you lads who use it.

1st question. - How different is the application from traditional sand and cement?

2nd question. - Have any of you lads done the 1 day training? or is it a bit pointless contemplating this if you already can render?

3rd question. - are any special tools needed or just a matter of troweling on as per usual?

There are many manufacturers of Monocouche renders so don't become transfixed with just k-rend
1. Actual application is not much different when hand applying, but there are different applications for differing substrates etc , some can be sponge to a smooth finish and others cant and have to be scraped for the desired effect.
2. not done the one day training , was thrown in the deep end in germany 20 odd years ago with a g4 and twenty pallets off mono, but it's not difficult once you know how the differing products perform and picking up the various techniques for prepping varying substrates, ruling and flattening and scraping back etc, a lot of the lads on here have there own little foibles and techniques some will share some wont, just keep reading the posts and do a search and read up on the older posts. Avoid all contact with SouthernMonkey cos he will eat your snap then you Lol
3 there are some differing tools for ruling and finishing such as serated edges, spats, i sections and nail floats/scratch pads etc etc etc one of your most valuble tools for applying would be a G4/5 imho
