hi all ,what would be a fair price on a used joddy mix ,it is over 12 years old and one of the first ones (dont know if they have changed much) .i know its history and used it ..any ideas ?

Spunky is the resident Joddy specialist , he'll be along shortly , why a joddy mate, think there are better mixers out there at the mo

It's what ur prepared to pay mate. They where £700 brand new about 8 year ago then he guy who was making them and selling them sold the patent and product to the current supplier as he wasn't making enough ther now around £1400 mate good tool I loved ours then it died on us nd it was to expensive to fix. Pft do a continuos mixer mate y not look into that as its. Proven brand for over 30 years. But tbh with you mate for not a lot more money you can invest in a pump which is far more versatile .

been plastering for near on 20 years and have only ever used this machine..so i dont know any better . i know its only good for hardwall type products but thats about it, what machine would you suggest warrior ? have limited funds so a used machine might be a option .

cheers guys .. the joddymix was boughtfor 650 new so back then it was a good price.what pump would u recommend wiganlad

Stiltwalker. If you are looking for a solid continuous mixer then PFT have a Lotus XS which is a much more reliable machine than a Joddy. The Lotus xs will mix anything except finish plaster and is half the size aswell.
If you wanna be spraying the PFT Ritmo starts at less than 5k plus vat and will mix.pump and put any pumpable renders or plasters inc skimming on the wall.

As blones says the lotus has had raving reviews and its about 1200 quid ish , or take the plunge an go for a ritmo

think i got to get with the times and get something to spray on .. so ritmo is ok then what is the g4 like against the ritmo? like i say looking at a used one

I have a used G5 plastering machine with portable 3 phase generator, cables the full shizazzle to have you spraying. 4.5k plus vat

All depends on what work you do mate ,all rounder is the Ritmo ,look in the machine plastering threads ,that might help

Unless you're doing loads of hardwall joddys are pointless mate
yes have been using alot of hardwall and been using the joddy since it came out (must be ten years now) ,what i am saying is will it be better for me to buy a spray machine at least i can use it for other materials

I have used and abused a Joddy in the past and found it a great machine, my thinking would be to replace it with a Pft Lotus XS, I do use a ritmo but you we don't spray everything all the time so a lotus would be a good help.

think i might look into this too ..think the joddy is alittle out dated now

Stilt
I can say I like the idea of the lotus alot and I have seen one in the flesh/metal.
Very nice very managable and in go faster orange.........mmmmmm

do a search on here stilts, we have a video up of it in action. To clean it you take the nose and mixing shaft off and wash it clean. No need to clean the hopper or empty it if you are using the same gear next time.

Yes
The lotus works
@plasterjfe

So does the m-tec Flotti, On a very 'pro' PFT site and 'anti' m-tec site I am not surprised people are saying it doesn't work before they have actually seen it. We have been using a 110v Flotti for years now and have not had any problems with it or complaints saying it doesn't work.... We also have some in our hire fleet which are out regularly and taken again by the same customers.

@stlitwalker Please feel free to come up and have a look at the machine and we will show you its capabilities

Can you attach a pedrollo to these so you can draw from a barrel?

Firstly I aint "anti" anything but I am "pro" pft of course - I own 2 of them. for me machines are like football teams you follow your team loyally, sounds daft maybe but thats the best way I would describe/compare most lads I know using pumps.

Reasons I AM pro pft, I draw on my own experience having used many many subbies nationwide (most of whom started spraying in Germany decades ago using ALL types of machines) all the lads have always been more than happy with their PFT machines (one G5 bought from pft central I might add, but they couldn't say the same of other machines. I went down the PFT route because of working alongside these guys - seeing is believing, in the last 6 years with subbies using a combined stock of a G5, G4, Minijet, Swing, and 2 ritmos they have been changing R/S filters etc - not machine heads. so there I am a PFT supporter.
That should not upset anyone for any reason on this forum, each to their own n all that mate.
Just for the record any tit for tat on here or any site does not interest me.
I love everyone on this forum except Richardbrown

coz he sends me nasty pics

Sorry John, was probably a bit jumpy. Just saw you say the lotus works potentially indicating the flotti won't. The guys who have mtec machines seem to love them. I have just managed to hire a m300 out to a company that owns 5 G5's they are now interest in swapping their G5's for m300's. The Mtec machines must be doing something right for them and many others want to change..

Have a good weekend

I agree

like i say if a man gets a hook on a machine he will go for it and it sounds like you might have some mtec supporters on the way.

just like the boys when they had machine head problems - moved onto G5 etc and have the same pump still now.....

anyway it sounds like your busy on the machine side ?

Yea fingers crossed the weather picks up! Been holding us all up. We should be in our new place be the end of the month and will be having a few open days so make sure you come down. Will post the big day dates on here

What machines are you using John? We will be using an m300 our boss bought one we did the days training at pft central today

how did you like spraying lash ?

using a minijet 3phase and a swing 240v now the other lads with the G5, 4 ritmos they belong to themselves.
