Won’t make difference to me, i work with ‘big’ boards and ‘small boards’

Well at least you'll be able to ask for 1/4 of barley sugars instead of 113 grams. You'll also feel far more heroic lifting a 1/2 cwt bag instead of one of those 25 kg things. :D

I'm going to add "esq. " to my email signature too.

[There should be a GIPHY here to make a comedic statement about 'Esquire' but the children that put them together don't realise it's anything other than a soft porn mag.]

Like a chinese but no good ones around here
Dont like em bland . Dont like takeaways in general. First night in wales everyones ordering. Think I.ll bail and make some cheese onion beetroot mayo sandwiches. Ordering for 25 peoples just gonna end in tears

I feel young I dont know what cwt is

Hundredweight. C = Century and wt is an abbreviation of weight. It's all very straightforward, you youngsters will pick it up in no time. :D

Can still get hundred weight bags of sand round here. Or you could up until last year, not needed any for a while.

All the places I use are full on H&S so 25kg bags only. I can't remember the last time I even saw a cwt bag.

10 x 8'x2'x10" etc
I said what the f**k is that it's like de Vinci code to me that

Next time i’m over Burnley i’ll see if Tommy’s place still stocks them and get a pic. Once delivered us 20 frozen solid, they took a week to thaw out. Horrendous winter in 2010 driver threw first one on my shoulder, nearly put me in a wheelchair.

My old man had a bet on site with his mate Finn as to who could carry the most cwt bags of cement at the same time when they were handballing from the truck to the cement shed. The both managed a stack of three on each shoulder with one across the stacks on top. Fcuking nuts.

Mind you, between that sort of carry on, working in shite conditions, fags, drink and a full fry up every day it's hard to understand why Finn didn't make it to 60 and dad made 66.

I'll stick with one 25kg at a time and try to set a longevity record.

I only ever do one bag or board now. Twisted to s**t from being young and daft.

Lots to consider it seems.... clearly there’s a way to play this situation.... I could strategically appear more well hard and cool than usual....

That's exactly how it starts.

I their case it was probably some other paddy straight off the boat boasting he could carry five, then everyone else in the tea hut is all "Hold my beer!".

It's a shame, or rightful, we learn all important lessons late in our lives and the funny thing is you can't pass it to the person next to you cos it takes ages to realise you are not superman. I personally slowed down few years ago and welcome th slow and steady approach instead of the rush to nowhere!

good story but weight been exaggerated with over time.

If you say so, then of course I'll bow to your superior knowledge of the capabilities of someone you've never met doing something you've never tried.

It's not that outlandish if you actually think about it, still a daft thing to do, but perfectly possible for a strong man in his prime. I'd imagine balance would be the main difficulty. 7 cwt is 355 kgs, which is considerably less than half the weight they carry on the yoke walk in those strong man competitions. I wouldn't mind betting there are a few on this forum that could do it.
