How to newly plaster walls after ceilings have been painted..?

I had my ceilings plastered and painted.. but now I need to plaster the walls myself? Any tips on keeping the ceiling's pain finish nice. It's expensive farrow stuff that I don't dare touch., Thanks!

Paint over it with cheap B and Q emulsion then it won't matter.

Get your Mrs to hold an umbrella above your trowel as you plaster, or stop a few inches short and put a wallpaper border around. Seen some nice Buzz Lightyear ones in B&Q. (Borders, not umbrellas) Hope this helps.

Because they haven't got a clue, everything is done arse over elbow.

because I had my ceiling done for free as it was a made of polystyrene. Got hold of the paint for the same price as deluxe as it was partly used.

they said they would paint and I wasn't sure I'd plaster the walls at the time.
