We are currently renovating our little daughters room which use to have lath and plaster that was badly blow out and we decided to take it down and board and plaster the walls. We discovered that the brick chimney breast is in good condition and would like to keep it exposed but I am not 100% how to create a good join between the plater and the brick walls.

Please see the photos attached. The stud is unfortunately flush with the brick and so the plasterboard is going to protrude out from the wall, but we can live with that (unless anyone has any other thoughts, but that is not our main problem)

How best should we finish the edge of the plasterboard and plaster to create neat finish with the brick?

Hello there.
There are beads that plasterboard slots into like a stop bead which will leave a nice crisp edge for you and any gap from imperfection in the brick work?? Just get a tube of caulk and pipe it in ! Jobs a goodun !!
Any merchants will know the type of bead im on about. Just explain what your planning on doing and they should put you straight :RpS_thumbup:

You could just buy a 15mm plaster stop bead and slot board into that. probably easier to get than the bead marshy mentioned. or as stu says put a timber trim/quadrant/architrave on the joint.
