How much material?

Hey guys how is everyone?

My friend has just moved house and would like his garden walls rendered.

They have old render on them but it is blown and cracked so me and him are going to get all the old sh1t off first.

altogether the area works out as 62m square. The area is spilt into 5 differnt walls so i can spread the work out abit.

Im struggling to work out how to work out the correct quantities, its taking me a while.lol!!has anyone got any tips to work this out quickly?

bout 1.5 tonnes of sand
bout 12 bags of cement
4 bags of lime
tub of waterproofer


1.76 ton of sand to a cube
cement to suit ratio in kg
25k to a bag of cement

thnaks mate. I got there in the end but was good to see what you put to make sure i was right!!

My friend has said to me now that he doesnt want to hack it all off and wants me to render straight onto the old render if we just get the crap stuff off.

I am very reluctant to do this as the old render is painted, so new render will be held onto the old stuff just by the paint.

I have told him i dont want to do this as it will fall off in the end.

i did suggest if he doesnt want to hack it all off then could fix eml sheets to it first?
am i right in doing this?as i think hes thinking, im trying to get more money out of him?(hes not a close mate, but i wouldnt wana do that to him lol)

Deffo hack it off, if it's cracked and lose, probery work out cheaper than EML
