Hi All,
Been a while since I posted in whirlpool. I just bought a property and about 2.5 weeks ago, I engaged a painter after seeing positive reviews on Google. The entire interior of the house was painted – walls, skirtings, doors etc etc.
I periodically inspected the house and found some bits unsatisfactory and I told the painter about this but he kept telling me the painting is not done.
I finally got a call this afternoon that its done and I dropped by to have a look tonight (Will try to upload pics tomorrow).
- The several nail holes were not patched properly and very rough. You can see lines around the hole.
- The skirting on the ceiling is not straight at all. They are wobbly as if no masking tape was used. The corners of some parts were not even painted properly, you can see 2 colours there.
- We have a feature wall that is red with the side walls being grey. Some parts of the grey are overlapping the red.
- Basically any part of the house where there is a colour separation, it looks wobbly.
- The area immediately next to the door frames were painted with a brush and seems kinda coarse and does not seem to blend in with the rest of the wall as I think there were done using rollers.
I left a message for the painter to call me back tomorrow but I'm not sure if I'm nitpicking or being fussy. I checked out a lot of homes before I purchased this one and some had new paint on an old house and I don't see anything remotely close to the standard i'm seeing here. I am pretty disappointed at what I am looking to be honest.
Could anyone give me any advise of what I can do should the painter refuse to rectify some of these issues ?
