its like a tilers trowel but its a renderers trowel - made with a perfect notch size for adhesive base coats. it gives the even coverage so as to keep it flat and even as poss without lumps and bumps showing in the final finished wall. Also keeps the coverage right and you will get the bag quants closer to what it should be. spreading with a trowel only can sometimes leave it too thin.
what finish product is going over it ?
this will depend if you need to trowel smooth over the mesh or scratch comb it
I do notice a few jobs where krend ft is applied over hpx but on a background of insulation and or render board.
As you know monocouche is cementious and hard and can crack on backgrounds like this.
None of the of the other companies ever spec their product over these substrates for this reason except weber or Parex say who have developed very light weight polymer versions of the mono such as M1 and EHI.
I just wonder if it is an actual spec from krend or not.
I ain't criticising just curios as I have never seen the written spec myself.
It's not a spec off krend it's off the company I'm doing work for obviously they don't know what there on about I got a drawing off them for a dormer on a loft which the customer wants krend
And on the drawing they put 18 mm sterling board with eml so I phoned em an said that's wrong so then I phoned krend up an he said use a cement board this will do
I wonder if krend do spec it on paper tho because a lot of builders are having it done. I know of a block of flats in lpool onto render board with ft....
Oh my a tower of flats. Can you imagine the movement !!!!
