Looks sound depends how much those jointing strips cost . Cant see our firm getting them though with the wank beads and scrim they buy
 
For rail roading boards the aussies do the same with thin ply pushed over the top of the boards
 
Its done to use full boards and less cuts and cuts out butt joints as it pulls the board up to create a tapered joint

it was launched about two years ago so i guess it has not taken off, nice idea but not needed unlike the bead tape which works and will be cheap and small enough for every spread to keep in the van for those tricky occasions..
