Hi my name's Henry and I've been visiting the forums for a while so I thought I'd say hello ;) I've worked in the building industry over the last 12 years, mostly in England and also Spain for a few years. I laboured for two excellent tradesmen for a lot of that time (a plasterer and a bricklayer) whilst also spending time on the trowel when possible.

I'm interested in specialising in plastering and just need some advice on what route to take really. Any help is appreciated, cheers. (y)
 
Get in with a spread that's been doing it for donkey's learn off him then get out on your own get your van signed up and crack on that's the way I went

im new as well henry some nice people on here and some who think its ok to slag off people who are really interested in making a go of it so keep looking and learning of your tradesman and keep learning ive been doing it for 32 years and you will get cheesed off with the comments of the so called golden trowels so just remember them and remind them that you were the guy that got cheeky n

Hi Davy and thanks for the reply and your advice. I'm always looking to learn and to get to a high standard. One plasterer I worked with (he's retired now) was a big influence on me because he made everything look easy and was so calm when doing large areas (even into his 60s). That's amazing you've been doing it for 32 years, I'll look forward to reading your posts. All the best.
 
i hope you find the right guys to work with henry after i got through i worked all over europe and had a great learning experience of different plastering techniques some good some a bit wild and messy ha ha and still have alot i keep in touch with you will enjoy it once you have the tools you can work anywhere
