right gonna tidy-up and decorate my hallway ! house 13 years old, artex ceilings ,cove, painted walls, over the years they have been dented ,gouged , i was thinking of thin-coat beads ,skim , what prep would you recommend to the walls for the skim to take ? SBR? and what plaster is best for this now ?. Thanks for replies :)

Ps i havent used gypsum for years ! most of my work is sand and cement now :)

how bad are the walls, could you not just fill where needed,,, if not pva or blue grit and multifinish

Something like Easifil, can be feathered out with sponge at edge of repair. Tried it with Multi, leaves a ridge, albeit half a millimetre or so.

I do love bonding over scabby walls... skims up lurvly

Or you could ad bonding to your first coat of skim.. lol

I would leave it mate plastering your own place its sole destroying when you dont get paid for it:RpS_lol: you could always charge your mrs and say you got someone in :RpS_scared:
