Help repairing bathroom walls needed!

hello all,i have removed tiles from plasterboard wall and need to repair,it has removed some back paper etc. I deally i would replace the plasterboard with aquaboard but the wall is a non load bearing wall with approx 20mm plasterboard centre with plasterboard on either side and i dont want to have to take it all out.

what options have i got? can i just skim with finishing plaster? i want the wall to be painted and smooth after.... do i need any special adhesives,PVA or the like...

If the damage is not to bad,give it a 2 coat skim...........prime wall at least a day before with some Feb Blue-Grit,Thistle Bond-It or similar bonding agent.
