Help - damp plaster - don't know what to do

Hi

Please can someone advise. We had our bathroom done a few years ago and painted the walls. The area above the shower, which is next to the chimney breast became black with mould and this continued onto the chimney breast.

There was some thought that it could be a leaking chimney and the damp was coming from outside down into the chimney. We paid to have this sorted and the chimney capped with a vent.

After this we had a plasterer come and tile up to the ceiling in the shower and replaster the chimney breast. The tiles were great - there's no black mould above the shower but as you can see from the photos of the plastering, it's a bit of a mess and seems damp.

We're really not sure what to do and we're hoping we don't need to strip everything back but at the same time, can't see what's causing the problem.

Many thanks for taking the time to look at this.

Check the flaunching, flashing and pointing/render

Also leaking pipes?

Doubt it's rising, other than that least likely is condensatory, but it is possible.
