Hard water Lime scale magnets

Hello Chaps

We are suffering with hard water and things like our kettle are getting hammered...

Our plumber dropped in to fix a leaky shower and he said it was caused by massive limescale build up and suggested a magnet to fix the problem....

Anybody got any recommendations?

We got the magnet fitted after the stopcock it does feck all, you shouldn't consume softened water you should only soften water to outlets where you won't drink it, some softens the lot and has an additional tap for drinking or a 3 way fancy tap which allows to draw unsoftened water. You can pick up a softener for £300 takes an hour to fit it, you can keep kitchen tap unsoftened for drinking and just use a mesh sponge in a Brita filter kettle to reduce scaling

Use this in your kettle, will still have to clean it often

But if you got issues with shower heads, toilets and taps furring up get a softener, will makes cleaning easier

why not fit a water softener? buy a siemens kettle it is double skinned and will give you good service, about £100.
