Hairline cracks where chimney breasts used to be

So I had two chimney breasts removed last year from the first floor, I still have two on the ground floor. The chimney stack had previously been removed. I've noticed the plaster where the chimney breasts used to be on the first floor has started to develop hairline cracks, and they've got a bit worse since I first noticed them (not wider, but longer). Also noticed a hairline crack on one of the ground floor chimney breasts plaster. Is it possible that this is directly connected? Should I just get the cracks filled and hope they don't come back? Thank you in advance :)

Well it's clearly connected, it 's just not known why. Too many variables and not enough info/detail to tell, and too much for a forum to answer. Wait and see what happens, if it gets really worse call in a surveyor.
