have you rang any local plasterers offering to work for them?
Yes mate a few have took me details etc

drive round and get in their faces. if you see an extension being built. either pop in and speak to the customer/builder or leave a card. get down the merchants in the morning and speak to some of the lads. ask if they need a hand etc

mate is very hard for all of us at the minute, yes some are very busy, but some have f**k all, I am busy again but its all comining from other plasterers/contacts, my phone is ringing less than once a week at the minute, give it time and it will all pick up! no point jacking it in as your be lucky to get a good job anywhere at the minute!

get down ur local pubs and speak to people. let them no ur a spread. put cards in all the local shops in nice areas around where u live. things like playing golf etc bring a lot of contacts for a lot of people i no. best way to find work is to no other tradesmen i think.

Yep its all about networking

a pint every day in my local has secured me £100,000's of work before now... it works a treat!

Also undercharge the people with big mouths and then you can get away with charging more in the future

Danny

no its not its about being good at youre job and building up some contacts ???...........the pub helps if youre depressed or you cuold netmeet with young girls on the computer safe :).......or charge people less and take up golf ..........niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice ;D

I did a weeks course in plastering...just to have a go really and I got jobs lined up at mates houses and a biggie job at my sisters house. I suppose with plastering, its where you come from? certain places in the UK are more quiet that others.

How are you managing to live with no funds coming in mark?

I hope it picks up for you soon

I feel the same sometimes it seems to be all or nothing,
i used work in a bar in the evenings and plaster in the day was fookin nackerd but when you work in the pub you being paid to make contacts. give it a try.
everyones finding it tough
dont give up.
