Hi Clivo, you would be looking at an 8-9 KvA Generator. If its slightly bigger that wont cause any harm its probably advisable as it will put the machine under less load.

In pretty sure I used to run off a 7.5 or an 8

As P1SS sais 8-9 kva but if its a diesel ask for 10 kva
