Alright chaps :-)

I need to replace this garage door as you can see it is rotten :-) I think i need to strengthen the single skin garage wall as I don't think the wall will be upto the job to hang the bug doors off it :-)

Thinking about blocking up a couple.of coloumns along that wall???

Knocking it down will happen in time bit it being rickety at the moment works in my favour...

It's one of 3 and I think I will own all of them but that part is complicated :-)

Neither (IMHO) take out the door and frame. Replace the frame with 3" steel box section welded to form a goal post shape. Set about a foot of the legs into concrete and hangs the doors from the frame. Solves the door problem, makes it far more secure and when/if you knock the garage you can leave the frame in place and build the blockwork up to it. (y)

Your hinges are the problem. That's where all the leverage is.

So bang a new 4x2 frame inside the old one and mount the hinges on that.

If it's not totally rotten then the screws should hold and the top will hold the square.

Should be strong enough. Depends how long you want it to last.
