Found this weird lump in my concrete wall, the plaster around has crumbled off, any ideas as to what this may be??

I think they're like a lignacite block. There was a reaction that happened once the cement/lime in the render touches it. It expands then blows out. A whole estate near me has this problem. I think a 60's or 70's estate.

Yes, but these are/were in the blocks themselves.

When you look close, its like small carbon or black soot or Ash. It reacts and blows out when rendered over. Probably organic or something.
