always someone powerful trying to make someone jump through a hoop, more about the power of money than the selfless act of the smallman.

Dont think so Ray, they gave him a swapped fake ticket to tear up. Fair play to the man, he wasn't getting the money himself, he was gifting it to his local club and missing a match of your lifetime ( bigger in ire than the cup final in uk )

yeah, but they could have just gave the money to the club instead of wanting to exert influence over him through an immotive act. it says more about money than the ticket.

So they have local clubs and then county teams made up of the best club players? What's an all ireland final? Surely theyre all all ireland?

I think it means he's willing to lose out himself for the gain of his club. Puts football to shame.

32 counties play in it,hence all ireland, it's played firstly through your province, Ulster,Munster,Connaught or Leinster but there is back door games too so some lose and still could get to the final..

Donegal is a county in Ulster ,it's in the north of Ireland but not in "Northern Ireland"
so Donegal is in the "south" even though it's the most northern county, not us ,the English did this

i think they're trying to turn it professional, seems to be on sky sports all the time, will probably ruin the sport, I don't know a whole lot about it exept the very sucessful players get given plum jobs in the community as a sign of their standing and the respect for their skill, will be gone it it goes professional.

Typical irish. A team in northern ireland but not northern irish so they're from the south yet are the most northern county

On a side note I tried watching hurling the other day. Gave up after 5 minutes cus I kept losing sight of the ball

Watch Sky all Ireland hurling final on Saturday at 5pm or Sky+ it. Amazing sport. I've got a Norwegian mate who used drink down my local, used watch it with us. Now him and his mates that still live in Norway go Ire as often as they can (if they get tickets) to watch pre final matches. Quite often featured on Norwegian TV I believe
