helppppppppppppppppppppppppp
just had to quote for screed flooring. now what i know of screeding is very little but i can do a good job i have used in the past chicken wire under floor insulation, slurry coats on concrete etc but the guy who wants the job doing is going on about a barrier around the inside walls to keep damp away from screed. i havnt a clue what he is talking about. can anybody help because there is loads of platering work available after this. ??? ??? ???

shouldnt he be getting the damp sorted if the walls are that bad then he is gonna have more problems than the damp getting to the screed, i have little knowledge with screeding or damp proofing so cant really help other than putting a strip of vapur barrier around the outside edge?

wouldnt you just put down a big DPM sheet and screed straight ontop? obviously with the DPM running up the walls (enough to cover the screed)

if the buildings constructed right there sholud be dpc in the wall and a dpm under the concrete floor anyway before u screed so shouldn't have to put membrane under screed. Tell him you'll tank the lower wall and floor upto screed level before u screed and buy a bag of soverign tanking (good Stuff).

normally you lay a plastic membrane and run it up the wall past the finish floor level insulation on the floor to spec and a 25mm cellotex insulation up stand around the perimeter but it depends on the spec and what the sub floor is
