i`ve got to put down a small amout of it to level 2 rooms that now are 1 room.problem is there`s a damp course under where the gear is going.can i lay compound over this.will be around 10mm thick.cheers

eh?
by 'damp course' do you mean damp proof membrane aka 'visqueen', polythene 1200 guage sheet...?
and do you intend to cover the sheet with 10mm of floor levelling compound and nothing else?
do you realise what will happen if you try to put floor levelling compound down 10mm thick over any substrate, let alone dpm?
is this a wind up?

*nips off to check ip* :RpS_blink:

if youre going down 10mm youll be needing sand in it...
if your going to be bridging the dpc youll need a waterproof barrier... just either pin a bit of dpc vertically all the way round or thin polystyrene or fix the skirting on first...

I couldnt imagine laying self levelling compound down at 50mm
Wickes do their version of it about £13-£14 a bag

Yeah your probably right, if i have to go any thicker i just add sharp sand to the leveller to bulk it up a bit, then thin layer over top
