Think were skimming it at the mo mate, does it look very similar to cement board? We've been told two give it 2 coats of pva one the day before one before you skim only needs one tbh

I have just completed a large bungalow using the Fermacell tapered edge boards and their jointing system. Only the square edge boards are glued at the joints. I used a circular saw attached to a dust extractor to cut them which was the quickest and easiest way as they are hard as f***. The jointing system isn't very user friendly as the joint filler goes off really quickly so you are constantly mixing and cleaning out buckets. Skimming is by far the best way to finish them.

they are using them on a job im on,for the floors they lay 50mm of dry levelling lytag then 40mm board then a 50mm board with grooves for heating cables then another 30mm board on top then hardwood floor

Im using this on a job at the moment the jointing is horrible you have to sand the board then fill the joints and nail head then go all over it with ready mix FST its a pain in the arse. theres no beads on the corners either

I used Sheetrock tape on beads on the corners for a better finish, but ran it past the technical guys first. Came up a treat. The FST is a little bit quartz like.

The glues a t**t to cut back the boarders have left it all over the shop like expanding foam, ive got one of them long handled scrapers with the blade in to cut it. Still a t**t though

for a short time i was their technical sales rep and the big problem we found was that fixers had no patience when applying the glue ie a nice steady flow with out rushing got the job done.the other problem was in winter they would nt leave them somewhere not to freeze and boy did that cause grief in fact it lost me my job
