Most modern kit houses need them around every 6m but the blockwork should normally have an expansion which you put your bead over

I normally use a plum line when i put my beads on (just to get them straight) havent slapped any on as i like to get paid
If you have to use them get them the same depth your render finish will be IE 10, 15 or 20mm
