Dri coat is a cement based backing plaster usualy used after damp treatment, or when plastering external walls and there might be risk of damp getting in. Its similar to limelite.
 
Yeah is great for that sort of thing, also you can get a few coats on in one day if it needs dubbing out, great stuff.
 
nice one mast, do you apply finishing plaster the same day, also what about pva, plus painting porus or non porus paint
 
Unfortunatley you cant skim same day as its cement based it needs time to cure :( I have skimmed it next day but you get better results if its left a bit longer say 2-3 days. As for paint i think you can just use any normal paint not sure on the technical details.
