dirty ceiling

just took down a top floor ceiling,(dont know about dan sarf)but in the olden days when chimneys were swept the soot was emptied in the attic space for insulation,there must have been 3 inches of the stuff up there,to make matters worse when i got home the whole streets gas was turned off so no hot water :'(
